New ground 400 has been a long time coming, first time visits in National League South are like rocking horse poo!

The Memorial Ground is a stadium that has a charm borne of nearly 80 years of existence but today reflects the changes that have had to be made to satsify ground gradings following four promotions in the last five years. I heard it described as "bitty", not an untrue statement but if a club is adding bit by bit, then that description is almost inevitable.

Away fans are requested to position themselves in the Peperami stand, an all terrace covered enclosure, although no segregation is actually in place. Behind one goal is a small seated enclosure with both covered and uncovered terracing alongside and there is no spectactor access at the opposite end. The main body of covered areas are one side, directly after entering the ground where they catering a bar areas serve up some really decent food at reasonable prices. The Peperami is at the far end with a further covered terrace and a seated stand alongside, on the opposite side there is open terracing.

Farnham's expenditure off the pitch, I would guess has been matched in its playing squad. Players of the quality of George Alexander, Marcel Lavinier (a deserved man of the match) and Jack Spong are not going to come cheap with recognised Natonal League South players like Aaron Kuhl, not even in the squad.

From a Tonbridge Angels viewpoint, there can be no complaints with the result. Despite taking an early lead, the home side were much the better team. But, had a second half chance to regain the lead falling to Frankie Baker been taken, who knows?

Level at the break, was just about right but it seemed a long time from the Angels goal through to the home side's equaliser, such was the direction of play.

Tonbridge took the lead on 15 minutes when a header forward from Hayden Bullas was headed into space by Ricky Korboa whose second touch saw him rifle a shot home from around 15 yards.

After Nathan Harness had made a couple of decent saves and Bobby-Joe Taylor twice blazing over the bar, the impressive Lavinier cut in from the right and into the box before letting go a shot that took a deflection before looping into the far corner.

The second half was a different story with the home side dominating, bar the pivotal miss from Baker on 67 minutes.
